Heading to Nurburgring this weekend we have a real sense of having nothing to lose, which gives us a good starting platform to attack from the get go.
We are nine points away from the Belgian Audi WRT team in the team’s standings, and 15 points behind in the drivers title chase. Both are still attainable, and although we are underdogs, we will be going all out to make it happen on Sunday.
It has been a good second season for us at Bentley M-Sport. We have always had the speed but not always the luck. I think we have proved to be major contenders at a variety of tracks and we have all moved up a level in 2015.
Going in to this weekend we are quietly confident. We know that as a team we have all the attributes to have a really strong weekend. Of course the opposition is tough; it always is in the Blancpain Endurance Championship.
It would mean so much to me if I could be champion, but more importantly it would be a collective experience between all of us at Bentley M-Sport. All the team would deserve it 100%. Now we just have to focus, keep our heads down and do what we do best - which is to race as hard as possible and to try and make it happen."
Whatever happens this weekend we know we have done everything in our power to strive for the titles. Personally, I think I’ve driven better than ever in 2015 and we have developed a formidable team that can challenge and beat the best. We’ve proved it several times, so Bentley M-Sport will be ready to do it again.
