Spa 24 - Bring it On!

17/07/2015

In the depths of winter when I’m training hard in the cold back home, this is the one that pushes you on to achieve a bit extra. The Spa 24 Hours is simply the biggest GT race in the world and this year I believe we will be right at the sharp end, and in a good position to achieve a great result at one of the world’s toughest race tracks.

Both myself and team mates Guy Smith and Andy Meyrick feel good about the car after a very fruitful test there at the end of June. We did a lot of good set up work on the Bentley Continental GT3, especially with the Pirelli tyres, and it puts us in a confident position heading in to race week, which is only a few days away now.

Spa is such a challenge, even over a regular stint, but doing three or four is really satisfying as a driver. Everyone knows that Spa is usually in most drivers’ top three favourite tracks. It offers everything and challenges the car and driver massively. But at Bentley M-Sport we welcome challenges and take them head on. I’ve never felt such a good collective team spirit in my entire professional career and there is a real buzz around Crewe as we head there.
